First Responders Legacy Scholarship Fund

Empowering Future Leaders. Honoring a Hero.

The First Responders Legacy Scholarship Fund was founded to honor the memory of Police Officer Darrin Reed, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on November 8, 2016. Our mission is to carry on Darrin's commitment to service by supporting the next generation of leaders in our community.

Each year, we award at least $10,000 in scholarships to five or more deserving students from local White Mountain area high schools. These scholarships are designed to help students pursue higher education and achieve their professional dreams—dreams just like Darrin’s.

The students eligible for these scholarships come from two of the poorest counties in the country, and we believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of ambition. By providing these resources, we are giving bright, dedicated students the opportunity to create a better future for themselves and their communities.
